Recently in the Racks

Two of my favorite modern bands released albums this week and I wanted to take a moment to recommend both. First up we have Blood Pressures, the newest LP from The Kills. This album is yet another masterful platter from the team of Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince and it is among the very best things the duo have ever delivered. The Kills are among the great modern Rock and Roll acts and Blood Pressures is an astonishing reminder of their power.

Also in stores this week is the striking Raven in the Grave from the fabulous Danish Duo The Raveonettes. I had the great fortune to see the supremely talented Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo live just last night at a show in Newport and they were astonishing. The new LP, which we greatly enjoyed driving home from the show, is (like Blood Pressures) a great reminder to how vital The Raveonettes are and it is also among the best things they have ever done.

I have linked to both The Kills and The Raveonettes sites above and I highly recommend both of their new LPs for anyone reading.
